GTA seeks plug-and-play facilities for IT startups #FinanceIndia #StockMarketNEWS #Business
Panaji: Goan IT industry in a road-map document, IT in Goa 2022-25, has asked the government for more plug-and-play facilities.



Members of the Goa Technology Association (GTA) said that, IT infrastructure in the state can be improved through plug-and-play stations wherein which a 25-30 employee company is able to start operations quickly. “For plug-and-play facilities the state needs to improve its internet connectivity,??? said GTA.



The industry body also urged the government to position the state as work-from- home destination for IT companies as well as startups. “Quality of life in Goa and the natural blessings only helps to strengthen the idea of work-from- Goa,??? said GTA.



The road-map document was presented to the Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, on Wednesday. It said  that the state can also be promoted as an IT event destination. “Promote our state as an ideal destination for technology events with a focus on latest technologies like AI, AR, VR, robotIcs, etc. This will not only generate revenue for the state but attract international talent while inspiring and motivating local youth,??? said GTA.



The road map was presented by Milind Anvekar, president, GTA, Mangirish Salelkar, former president, GTA and other members of the association.



Members pointed out that, the local IT industry needs support by way of continuity in policy, market creation, simplifying the processes and ease of doing business.



The state’s IT startup ecosystem comprises over 350 startup units, of which 140 are certified startups which are registered with DPIIT, N Delhi.  A total of 111 startups are certified with the government startup cell. There are over 15 co-working and incubator spaces and over 20 e-cells and innovation councils in colleges and universities.
